Christmas on Islay and it really is the perfect time to truly relax and unwind.

The Preparations

I don’t know about you, but for me, the run up to the festive season always propels me at full speed into a heady burst of ‘to dos’. From juggling getting everything decorated and festooned, adding those extra touches of ‘lights and glitter’, to all the food shopping and prep. The gift buying, and wrapping. It’s squeezing everything in, around those extra ‘gatherings’ and socials that light up the calendar, at this action packed time of the year.

Christmas Events on Islay

There’s always plenty of events to enjoy on Islay to get you into the festive mood.

Check out the Distillery winter fairs and gatherings. The crafty afternoons, and festive teas. The parties and events in the village halls.

A Cosy Christmas Break

Have you thought about a cosy break away from it all?

There’s always plenty of exciting events happening on Islay at this time of year, but the real beauty lies in the huge deserted sandy beaches. Windswept walks along the shoreline. Watching as the seals come out to play.

Hikes over the wild and rugged landscapes, where you really can step back and enjoy some well deserved rest and relaxation. Just pack some sandwiches and a thermos and head off into the wilderness.

At the end of the day enjoy a glass of fizz or an Islay malt as you toast your toes in front of the fire.
